*Yuli Toshev*
It is with regret that we must announce the death of our 4M Partner and friend, Professor Yuli Toshev, pictured right. Yuli was our principal contact at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and many of you will have met him last year when he hosted the 4M2007 conference in Borovets. We received a message last week which read: "At 22.04.2008, after one valuable, creative and passionate life, Professor Yuli Toshev passed away. Lets remember forever this remarkable and cosmopolitan person." Our condolences go to Professor Toshev's family and friends.
*4M2008*
This year's conference in Cardiff has attracted another industrial sponsor. Tecan Ltd have agreed to sponsor the 4M2008 conference and we look forward to seeing them there. They join Oxford Lasers, Sarix and Micro Manufacturing Magazine as sponsors. For all information about 4M2008 visit the conference website.
*4M2007 Special Issue*
We are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Springer to publish a Special Issue of the International Journal for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies(IJAMT) on "Multi-Material Micro Manufacturing". This will be based on papers drawn from those first presented at 4M2007 in Borovets. The authors concerned will be contacted shortly.
*Sensors & Actuators Division*
TU Vienna would like to host a follow-up workshop on "cell handling and actuation" (Task 11.6) on June 19-20, 2008. We would like interdisciplinary contributions for this meeting and are aiming for about 20 participants including some industrial representation. If you are interested in participating or require more information please contact Sandra Wilson or Paul Kirby.
