The next Micro-Optics Conference (MOC 08) will be held in Brussels from September 25th until September 27th 2008. This conference was held exclusively in Japan up until 2004, since when it was organised outside Japan every other even year (Jena 2004, Korea 2006).

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel has been invited by the Japanese organizing committee of MOC to host this event in 2008 in Brussels at the time when the EC Network of Excellence on Micro-Optics (NEMO) reaches officially its end.
We therefore see the MOC08 forum as an ideal possibility to come together, and also an ideal opportunity to publish your work on micro-photonics and micro-manufacturing. The submission deadline for regular papers is May 31 2008. The conference flyer and first Call for Papers is available on the following link:

Authors of MOC08 will also get the opportunity to publish their work in the special sections on "micro-optics" in the peer-reviewed SPIE journal "Optical Engineering".

The conference will start on Thursday morning with a special session fully devoted to NEMO and its achievements. This can be seen as a nice overview on state-of-the-art micro-optics.

The organisers look forward to welcoming you in Brussels at the end of September 2008! Full details on the conference website.
