Destructive and non destructive metrology characterisations of advanced polymer assemblies
1732
The University of Naples Federico II has provided a consultancy to ENEA Brindisi about the general aspects concerning the metrological problems applied to advanced polymer and polymer matrix composite materials for assembly applications of their interest.
ENEA Brindisi is a research laboratory specialising in advanced polymer and composite material processing. ENEA Brindisi has had long term collaborations with the University of Naples Federico II to which it recently submitted a technological enquiry regarding the establishment of metrological characterisation procedures of advanced polymer and polymer matrix composite materials in view of assembly applications taking into account problems related to micro feature fabrication.
The following outcome was obtained:
Development of destructive (mechanical) and non destructive (ultrasonic) metrological characterisation procedures with the aim to verify its applicability to the assembly applications of interest.
Demonstrations of the feasibility of the procedures experimentally carried out at the laboratories of both the University of Naples Federico II and ENEA Brindisi.
The University of Naples Federico II will continue to collaborate with ENEA Brindisi on this application area in order to ensure the scientific and technical support for the establishment of the metrological characterisation procedures of advanced polymer and polymer matrix composite materials in view of assembly applications taking into account problems related to micro feature fabrication.
