Lasit is a high tech SME specialising in development and applications of Nd:YAG laser system for the mechanical manufacturing industry that has had long term collaborations with the University of Naples Federico II in the field of laser manufacturing applications. Lasit recently submitted a technological enquiry regarding the identificaion of problems in the development and optimisation of Nd:YAG laser systems for micro fabrication processes such as micro drilling and micro engraving for the mechanical and aerospace industries.

Assistance was given by University of Naples Federico II to the Lasit company about the general aspects concerning the optimisation of Nd:YAG laser system applications for micro drilling and micro engraving on multi materials such as steel, brass, Ti alloys, Ni alloys, sintered carbides. This collaboration could lead to a future paid RAS initiative through a dedicated consultancy contract and project development. It could also lead to the involvement of Fox Bit in 4M as Affiliated Partner.
