Summary
Sensor systems in foil will be a large future market. Flexibility, large area and reduced costs are opportunities for new applications in several markets. Under this cross-divisional project a technology roadmapping exercise “strategy development of breakthroughs in micro- and nanotechnology with regard to sensor systems in foil” will be carried out.

The roadmap will contribute to defining future research topics. Furthermore the roadmap will give a broad insight of the market opportunities of sensor systems in foil.

To meet the objectives, the technology roadmap will contain the following subjects:

• Markets and applications of sensor systems in foil
• Benefits and bottle necks of the supporting processing and product technologies
• Future research topics and capabilities of technologies
• Review by major market players (industrial companies)
